About us

Founded in 2017, 97 Connexion Métropole is a non-profit association based in Champs-sur-Marne, France. We specialize in developing, coordinating, and promoting sports and recreational events for people of all ages — especially young children, teenagers, and adults. Our work is rooted in a strong belief that physical activity and play are not only essential for health but also powerful tools for education, integration, and personal development.

We operate independently, guided by our values and committed to offering high-quality, inclusive programs that bring people together and help build stronger communities.

Our Story

The association was created by a small group of community organizers and educators who recognized a growing disconnect between young people and the resources needed for their well-being and development. They noticed that many families lacked access to structured, meaningful activities outside of school hours. Opportunities for physical engagement, creative play, or team-based sports were unevenly distributed and often cost-prohibitive.

97 Connexion Métropole was founded to bridge that gap — to offer organized, safe, and positive activities that support youth development, encourage social bonds, and foster a sense of belonging. Since our creation, we have gradually expanded our outreach, refined our methods, and gained valuable experience in the field.

Today, we are proud to be an active and recognized contributor to community life in our area and beyond.

Our Purpose

At its core, 97 Connexion Métropole aims to:

  • Organize accessible sports and recreational activities
  • Support young people in discovering their potential through movement and play
  • Strengthen community ties by promoting collective events
  • Provide adults and families with opportunities to connect and participate
  • Encourage physical and emotional well-being through active engagement
  • Collaborate with other local actors to maximize social impact

Our purpose is not limited to organizing events for entertainment. We see our work as contributing to social inclusion, youth empowerment, and community building. Every activity we offer is designed with intention: to educate, to uplift, and to inspire.

Who We Serve

Our association is open to all. We welcome:

  • Children and adolescents, who benefit from discovering new skills, developing self-esteem, and forming friendships
  • Adults, who often find in our events a much-needed space for social interaction and relaxation
  • Families, who appreciate activities that involve all generations and encourage unity
  • Schools, community groups, and institutions, who partner with us to enhance their programs
  • Volunteers and local residents, who want to contribute to the life of their neighborhood

Inclusivity is one of our central principles. We make special efforts to ensure that our events are financially accessible, culturally sensitive, and adaptable to various physical or personal needs. Everyone has a place in our programs.

Our Activities

The activities we organize are as diverse as the communities we serve. We design programs that are both structured and flexible, depending on the audience and setting. These include:

  • Sports tournaments (football, basketball, multi-sport days)
  • Games and recreational afternoons in local parks or community spaces
  • Educational workshops that combine physical activities with health or social awareness
  • Events for families to play, learn, and spend quality time together
  • Collaborative projects with schools and local institutions to enhance their educational missions

All our events are grounded in pedagogical and organizational expertise. We prioritize safety, inclusion, and fun — the three pillars of successful participation.

We also adapt our activities to different contexts. Whether it’s a school setting, a neighborhood park, or a community hall, we bring the same care and creativity to every project.

Our Values

Our work is guided by a set of strong values that define everything we do:

  • Respect: We treat every individual with dignity and consideration.
  • Engagement: We are deeply committed to active participation, both from our team and our community.
  • Accessibility: We ensure our programs are open to all, regardless of background or means.
  • Empowerment: We help people discover and develop their abilities through play and teamwork.
  • Solidarity: We build bridges between individuals, neighborhoods, and generations.

We believe that real impact comes from consistency, trust, and collaboration. These values are not only present in our planning but also felt in the atmosphere of every event we create.

Our Team

97 Connexion Métropole is run by a dedicated and experienced team of organizers, educators, and volunteers. Each member brings a unique set of skills, energy, and vision to the table. Together, we design and deliver activities that are well-planned, safe, and adapted to participants’ needs.

We work in close contact with local partners — including municipalities, schools, and other associations — to respond to real community needs. Our approach is always cooperative and responsive. We do not impose a model; we build it together with those who benefit from our services.

Our Vision for the Future

As we look ahead, we are focused on sustainability and growth. We want to reach more participants, expand our presence in underserved areas, and develop new programs that respond to emerging challenges — such as digital dependency, social isolation, and physical inactivity.

Our ambition is to become a model of inclusive, community-based engagement through sports and recreation. We are working to strengthen our internal structures, diversify our funding sources, and build long-term partnerships that will help us continue and expand our mission.

We also plan to offer more training and capacity-building opportunities — for staff, volunteers, and even participants — so that our impact can multiply across generations and communities.
